Overall, my experience at Marquette University as a transfer student has been highly enjoyable. Transitioning from Chicago was challenging, but Marquette’s welcoming, close-knit community made it easier. The university offers excellent academic programs and dedicated faculty, fostering a supportive learning environment. Campus life is vibrant, with numerous organizations and fun athletic events. Marquette’s Jesuit values emphasize ethics and service, enriching my personal growth. While tuition is high and some facilities need modernization, the strong sense of community and excellent support services have made my time here rewarding.

Living on campus at Marquette has been extremely isolating; the school has a clear lack of diversity, and it makes little to no effort to change this. Money continues to go to the basketball team (private jets, trips to Hawaii, etc.) while financial aid and academic buildings on campus suffer. Research facilities are falling apart, and equipment is not functional. This institution expects its faculty to conduct high-level research but does not give them the resources required. The engineering department has targeted me and other female classmates in ways that isolate us and create a sense of judgment. Overall, I would not recommend this school to anyone looking to attend.

Marquette offered me the best of both world: a distinct college campus community in the middle of the city. I also loved the school spirit, especially when it came to our Men's Basketball team. Basketball games were always electric, and it is something I hope to take part in as an alum. I also met some of my closest friends during my undergraduate degree at Marquette. While there is a lot I love above Marquette, there are some aspects of my time that I wish were different. Racism is an issue on the campus and is something myself and my peers experienced from students and professors. There is also the issue of high tuition rates. The university tuition has gone up significantly in recent years and does not show signs of decreasing any time soon. In addition, some colleges get preferential treatment in terms of grants from the university and alumni. The science buildings are very old while, the business, engineering, and nursing buildings are brand new.
