As we celebrate the Juneteenth federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans, rising third year law student Ishmael Kazah reflects on his Civil Rights Pilgrimage conducted by the Center for Peacemaking.

Prayer cards, lapel pins and stickers honoring President Michael R. Lovell are available at various locations around campus. The lapel pins and stickers are sunflowers that include President Lovell’s name and the number 24 – recognizing his legacy leading the university as its 24th president.Those attending the Mass of Christian Burial for President Lovell are encouraged to wear their lapel pin during the service.

In celebration of the life of Marquette University President Michael R. Lovell, funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 20. A public visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Church of the Gesu, located at 1145 W.
